Raw honey is where the power lies, which is why we chose to use it as the base for our delicious, nutritious honeys. There is a long list of reasons why we love raw honey, here are just a few…
- Raw honey is prebiotic, antimicrobial, antibiotic, and antioxidant
- Raw honey contains approximately 22 amino acids and 31 different minerals
- Raw honey has a wide range of vitamins and enzymes including over 20 types of bioactive plant compound polyphenols
Raw Honey is alive
What does that mean? Real, raw honey is never cooked or pasteurized, keeping all of the bacteria alive — which is what you want. This is also one of the reasons we recommend that you never cook honey. In Ayurveda, they say that cooking honey turns it toxic.
While excavating Egypt’s famous pyramids, archaeologists have found pots of honey in an ancient tomb. The honey, dating back approximately 3,000 years, is still perfectly edible.
Raw Honey has been used for thousands of years to treat a myriad of conditions, including:
- Sexual energy
- Used topically on cuts and bruises
- Helps with sleep
- Can calm down the emotions
Some research supports the theory that local honey — obtained as close as possible to where you live — may help build an immunity to some seasonal allergies as the plants that the bees pollinate are normally the ones you are getting tweaked by.
We work with California honey producer, Bloom Honey. Bloom never heats honey, works with local farmers and beekeepers, and has one of the most delicious honey’s available.
